Our teachers are enthusiastic about teaching. They have a wealth of experience in preparing students for the Leaving Certificate exams and are dedicated to helping their students achieve their full potential.
Aidan Roantree, Maths
Aidan is our senior Maths teacher at the Institute, where he has been teaching Maths and Applied Maths for over 26 years. As the author of 14 books, including the most recent Effective Maths Books 1 & 2, he is acquainted with every detail of the new Maths course.
Aidan has also appeared on radio programmes to give advice to students prior to exams. He is regularly called upon by branches of the Irish Mathematics Teachers Association to give talks to teachers on aspects of the Maths courses. He is one of the authors of the 2015 Exam Times supplement, published by the Irish Times.
Tara Lyons, Chemistry
Tara has been teaching Higher Level Chemistry at The Institute of Education since 2001. During this time many of her students have achieved excellent results with one of her students receiving the highest grade in Chemistry in Ireland. Her aim is to make her subject clear, accessible and interesting so that students will want to continue studying Chemistry. Tara is one of the authors of the 2015 Exam Times supplement, published by the Irish Times.
Mona Murray, Biology
Science teacher Mona graduated from U.C.D. with an Honours Science Degree, majoring in Biology. She has been teaching full-time at the Institute for many years, inculcating a love of the subject to her students with outstanding success.
